The clinic was founded in 2018 by Dr. Anna Elperin, DO, grounded in understanding the whole individual, not just their “problem” or “disease”, looking for the root cause of the illness, not just masking the symptoms.
“My story. My name is Dr. Anna Elperin. I finished my undergraduate training in New York City where I was involved in several clinical research studies, as an undergraduate student. In 2010, I moved from NYC to Ellensburg WA with my husband and my toddler daughter, to attend medical school at a Pacific Northwest University in Yakima. My son was born between years three and four of medical school. I had two kids under the age of 5, while attending medical school full time. My self-care practice was very limited at that time. I kept on pushing my body, like I was some sort of superhuman. I was running on a year’s worth of low on energy and sleep and really high on stress, anxiety, and emotional deprivation. I lived on processed food and Lean Cuisine, washing 4-8 cans of Sugar Free Redbull through my body. And then, at the age of 30….I got diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer.
I got lucky, it was my blessing in disguise. My diagnosis began a PASSIONATE LIFE- LONG journey of the importance of nutrition, mindfulness, spirituality and yoga as a part of the overall health perspective.”
MY STORY
DR. ANNA ELPERIN – PROFESSIONAL STORY
Dr. Anna Elperin has attended Hunter College CUNY in New York where she has earned her Bachelors Degree in Biology and Creative writing. Her research experience includes laboratory research at the New York University School of Dentistry in the histopathology laboratory studying Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck (SCCHN). Her clinical research work was performed at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn at the Department of Emergency Medicine.
She was simultaneously involved in two clinical research studies. One, Analyzing the validity of blood gas analyzer and the second, utility of using whole blood for identification of pregnancy with a Point – of – Care testing in the setting of Emergency Department.
She attended medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Washington. She fell in love with the mountains of this beautiful region and she and her family decided to stay in the Pacific Northwest for Residency training. Dr. Elperin is dually board certified in Family Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. She became very interested in Functional Medicine in her training, as it really coincided with her philosophy of care.
Dr. Elperin believes in providing individualized health solutions to her patients and treating the root cause of the disease, not just the symptoms. She is passionate about improving patient’s functionality, vitality and improving quality of life for her patients.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband and two children. They enjoy skiing, hiking and discovering the wine regions of the Pacific Northwest.
